Travelling with animals

How the animal should travel
  • In the cabin with you, provided that it does not exceed the given weight and dimensions and is in a suitable carrier.
  • In the cargo hold, in a suitable carrier.
What do I need to know?
  • You must inform your airline with sufficient notice if you intend to travel with a pet or other animal.
  • The airline may have a limit on the number of animals permitted in the cabin.
  • In general, transporting animals involves an additional cost. Contact your airline for further details.
  • A failure to comply with the regulations endangers both you and your pet, and it may mean your pet cannot re-enter the EU, or that it may have to be quarantined or even put down.
  • The regulations for access and transit with pets in terminals depend on the by-laws of the municipality to which the airport belongs.
